TP-Link Deco X96 Review

You can guarantee that TP-Link is placing a significant amount of money on the upcoming Wi-Fi 6E standard. A total of four new Wi-Fi 6E solutions were introduced today by the networking provider at the CES 2021, comprising two mesh systems and two standalone routers. It nearly appears to be too wonderful to be true.

The Deco X96, which has a similar design to the TP-Link Deco X5700, has three separate bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz) with a total bandwidth of 6600Mbps. It has a similar design to the TP-Link Deco X5700.

Details are still unclear, but it appears that the 6GHz frequency is a dual-stream (22) configuration with a maximum data rate of 2.4Gbps. The two front-haul bands are numbered 44 (4.8Gbps) and 22 (576Mbps) in order of speed. The X96 also contains four Gigabit network connections (one WAN and three LANs) as well as a 2.5Gbps LAN/WAN port to complement its other features.

Because it only has three autosensing Gigabit network ports, the Deco X76 features hardware that is considerably more understated. There are two systems connected together, with a total bandwidth of 5400Mbps. However, it is pre-installed with Zigbee technology for home automation.

Both systems rely on the new 6GHz spectrum for dedicated backhaul, which is used by both systems. This is a high-risk technique since this frequency is anticipated to have a lesser range when compared to the 5GHz band. We’ll have to wait and watch how these new mesh networks do in the long run, unfortunately.
