The D-Link DIR-882 wireless router is the company’s most recent wireless router. It is also the most expensive model in the DIR-867 and DIR-878 series of routers, which are the most recent models in the series. Because it is the top-of-the-line model, there are significantly higher expectations. The DIR-882 is configured in a 44 configuration in order to get the best possible wireless AC speed.
The number of streams used by the router is 44, which means that a 44 router will have 4 streams. Despite the fact that the majority of smartphones on the market are just 2/2 capable. A 44 network may benefit even 22 devices since it can support two simultaneous 22 connections at the same time, improving the efficiency and capacity of the network as a result of this.

The pricing of this router is one of its most appealing features. At a suggested retail price of little more than RM700, with some vendors offering it for as little as RM600, it is undoubtedly one of the finest deals available for an AC2600 wireless router.
Performance
In our real-world testing environment, we put the D-Link DIR-882 through its paces in terms of wireless performance.
When it comes to short-distance testing, nothing is unexpected because most routers should be able to deliver speeds of more than 500Mbps. When it comes to long-distance testing, the DIR-882 continues to impress with its very acceptable speed. This router, like the DIR-878, maintained consistent speed even when tested at greater distances, indicating that it has quite good WiFi coverage.
However, if you read our evaluation of DIR-867, you will see that it functions in a manner similar to that of DIR-882. The reason for this is that we only have 22 devices, and most of the gadgets on the market are just 22. However, even with a 44 device, the DIR-882 can offer superior performance and handle more devices at the same time than the competition.

Verdict
The D-Link DIR-882 wireless router is a fantastic piece of equipment. It is an AC2600 class wireless router, and it performed admirably in our tests. Our favorite features of this router are its long wifi range and reliable 2.4GHz performance. Even when we are further away from the router, we get excellent signal coverage and fast internet access. It is also capable of supporting a 1 Gigabit Internet connection through a wired LAN as well as over WiFi, assuming the appropriate equipment is utilized.
Its cheaper pricing allows D-Link to justify its reduced feature set despite the fact that it does not have as many features as rivals. For the price, it’s likely that you won’t find another router that performs as well as the DIR-882, making it a very attractive option for prospective customers.
